Introduction to Silent Dismissal

Silent Dismissal is the premier solution for establishing a controlled and quiet school dismissal.

How Our System Works

Silent Dismissal uses databases and user accounts to support a streamlined dismissal for both school staff and students. Once these databases and accounts are set up, school staff will be able to run their entire end-of-day process through our system -without the need for intercoms and handheld radios- for a less noisy and more efficient dismissal. If allowed by the school, parents may also participate in overriding dismissal methods through our application available to iPhone and Android users, which gives them control over how their student(s) end the school day.

Databases

A database is “an organized collection of data” which can be accessed by a computer. There are two main databases that must be created to get started with Silent Dismissal: a user accounts database and a student records database.

User accounts are used by faculty & staff to operate the Silent Dismissal program, and each account type has a specific set of permissions. This allows users to serve specific functions during dismissal, as it takes different roles to perform the dismissal process. Student records are a crucial part of our system because they store data about a student's school activities and dismissal, like which bus they ride or which after school activity they attend.

Both of these databases will be created during the initial setup of your school's Silent Dismissal program, and can be accessed and edited at later times by a local admin account.
