Groups
Groups are logical associations of students that allow numerous students to be called for dismissal via a single entry.
Any student that is not dismissed to a guardian via Pick Up Id by necessity needs to be dismissed as a member of a group.
Groups vs. Locations
Locations are named, physical places such as:
- Car Line
- North Door
- Bus Ramp
- Office
- Etc
A group may optionally have a location associated, such as Bus 101 to Bus Ramp, but in most instances an individual group will always go to the same physical place so the location information is often redundant, but no always.
For example, if group such as a tutoring group could meet in one of several different classrooms, then it makes sense to explicitly set the location for the group, including overriding the default location value to a different location when the group is called for dismissal.
